ACADEMIC PRIZEGIVING
This takes place in February each year to reward academic excellence based on Promotion results from the previous year.
ACADEMIC SUPPORT PROGRAMME
ALL academic support takes place from 13:45 – 14:30. Girls not involved in the academic support programme have a lunch break or can start homework. NO sport/cultural/olympiad activity may start before 14:30.

ST DOMINIC’S ASSIGNMENT AND TEST POLICY
An important life skill is the ability to meet deadlines. The Policy at St Dominic’s is put in place to assist the learners in achieving this important life skill.
OLYMPIADS
All girls in grade 8 and 9 have an opportunity to take part in the ATKV Afrikaanse Olimpiade, while senior girls may also take part in this olympiad at their grade level.
Learners taking Mathematics have an opportunity to take part in the Harmony Maths Olympiad every year in March.
Learners taking French are encouraged to take part in the DELF exam. Read more in the French Subject Brochure.
The Consumer Studies Olympiad is an exam of a very high standard set on the entire Consumer Studies syllabus. Read more in the Consumer Studies Subject Brochure.
At St Dominic’s the English Olympiad provides a forum where students may debate important issues, present papers and where they are generally driven by the belief that nothing great may be achieved without passion. Read more in the English Subject Brochure.
SENIOR SCHOOL PARENTS AFTERNOON/EVENING
Regular Parents’ afternoons / evenings are held to discuss the learners academic progress.
The First Term Report is based on Continuous Assessment and feedback is given in the second week of Term 2.
The second Term Report reflects the Midyear Exam Mark and feedback is given after the Midterm Break in Term 2.
The five Grade Tutors have frequent meetings with Teachers and appointments are made to see parents whenever it is deemed necessary. Parents may make appointments at any time to see individual teachers.
