MEDIA CENTRE
St Dominic’s Media Centres serves the Junior & Senior School learners.. In the Media Centres, learners have access to a comprehensive book collection, the Internet, reprographic equipment and magazines.
These facilities are available to teachers and learners from 07h00 to 16h00 each day during the school term. At St Dominic’s we are committed to multi-media use across the curriculum and we encourage extra curricular use of media.
The Media Centre is undergoing a revamp (LINK TO HELPING HANDS), work has started to separate the media centre into distinct areas.
SWIMMING POOL
The Swimming Pool Project is almost finalised. St Dominic’s boasts a 8 lane FINA approved pool. Pool can be used for swimming gala’s, waterpolo tournaments and once the boards have been installed for diving. There is an additional pool to cater for the needs of the younger learner swimmer.
COMPUTER CENTRES
St Dominic’s boasts 2 fully equipped computer centres. Each child has access to a computer with the latest MS Office software, Educational Games and the Internet.
SPORTS GROUNDS
We offer each student the opportunity to explore their talents. Facilities are available to play Netball, Hockey and Tennis.
SCHOOL HALL
The School Hall hosts School Masses, School Assemblies, cultural productions; it is a venue of great sentimentality and the final venue for our Matrics as they write their final exams here.
The professional lighting and sound system enables us to stage productions of a high standard. Opportunities are available for the senior students to get involved as backstage crew.
JUBILEE CENTRE
The Jubilee Centre offers an alternative venue for cultural and sporting events.
It is also equipped for sound and is used as the Matric Farewell Venue. The Grade 11 girls under the guidance of the Matric Farewell Teachers are exceptionally talented at recreating a fantasy world within the Jubilee Centre.
MUSIC ROOM
All girls are able to explore the exciting world of music. Music Appreciation is developed within each student.
ART ROOM
Creativity is encouraged in all children; our Senior Art Room is an explosion of ideas and abilities.
SCIENCE LABS
The Junior and Senior Science labs are fully equipped and boast interactive boards.
